Thanks to all our volunteers who helped make the first Challah for Hunger of the semester a big success!! We can't wait for an amazing semester!! We will be selling the challot on Locust Walk from 11:00AM through 2:00PM and in the Hillel Lobby from 12:00 through 1:30 PM, so don't forget to pick up a delicious, freshly-baked challah for Shabbat! Or, pick one up for your parents! See you next week, same time same place! (Eds. note: Rodin Underground, 6 through 10pm)

The Family Weekend Melave Malka is finally here. It's not (yet) too late to sign up! RSVP on behalf of your folks to sugard@sas.upenn.edu and join us at 8:30 on the second floor of Hillel.

If you plan on bringing your parents into a college house Friday evening or Saturday, please do not forget to sign them up for the Shabbos List, at pennocp.org/security (AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!)

Check out some other upcoming events at pennocp.org/classifieds and upcoming OCP events at pennocp.org/calendar

And finally: luckily for you, the New Yorker cartoonists’ favorite topic happens to coincide with that of the OCP (Noa), so I happily present to you four (count em!) offerings from the cartoon bank:

OCP 'Handwriting - Dakota'.jpg

Special thanks to everyone who helped build the succot at Hillel last week, and especially to those who helped maintain it Wednesday despite the best efforts of the wind tunnel

All Shabbos List additions -- this week only -- will be due no later than Friday at 11am. In the future, all guests must be added to the temporary list by midnight on Thursday. Please sign up your guests at pennocp.org/security. Contact Lizi Marks with any questions.

Speaking of scrolls, what better way to celebrate their yearly revolution than to study them?

Shabbat, between Mincha and Ma'ariv, Rav Mordy will give a shiur :: Can a Woman Touch or Dance with a Sefer Torah?

Sunday, between Mincha and Ma'ariv, we've got a rockin' chabura line-up featuring:

Rachel Grosser :: Retroactive Approval or Futuristic Prognostication: What was the Purpose of Birchot Moshe?

Danny Cohen :: Paradise Now? A Textual and Meditative Exploration of Gan Eden and Relationship

On Sunday, the OCP Social Committee proudly presents its first-annual Bananagrams Tournament. Both newbies and experts are welcome to compete in an intense word-building workout! Snacks will be provided. Yummy ones. Possibly banana-themed, but you'll have to come to find out. Can't wait to see you from 4:30-6:15 on the 2nd floor of Hillel! (If you would like to participate in the tournament, please show up on time. If you are just interested in playing casually, extra sets will be available for the duration of the event. Spectators are, of course, also welcome.)

Notice: As of today (Friday) New York Bagels (located on Haverford Ave) will no longer be under the Kashrut Supervision of the Va'ad of Philadelphia, as they have opted to replace their certification with one from a non-Orthodox agency.

Mark your calendars (and be sure to visit pennocp.org/calendar for more events):

At 7PM on Wednesday, October 14, Dr. William Kolbrener will deliver an expert lecture regarding Wittgenstein’s Duck, Quantum Physics and Jewish Pluralism

If you plan on being around for Fall Break (10/17), please let us know by filling out this linked form.

Hungry for Challah? Make Challah for the hungry! Challah for Hunger will kickoff its year on Thursday, October 22nd.
